The final round of the European One Wheel League (EOL) championships for the 2023-2024 season took place in Albufeira from 3 to 6 October, bringing an intense season to a close.
The 2024 course was lengthened and enhanced with even more obstacles than last year, allowing the 16 top competitors to demonstrate their agility and technical level, while seriously testing their endurance. The competition was full of intense moments and twists and turns, right up to the final race!
The Tier-2 league made a stopover near Odense in Denmark from 23 to 25 August in a friendly and sympathetic atmosphere that is the trademark of these ‘indie’ competitions known for their different atmosphere.
DOG stands out in particular for its highly technical and rather slow obstacle course, which puts the emphasis on the skill and precision of the competitors rather than the speed and power of the boards. But Denmark is also about games and warm moments of sharing, like the ‘hygge’.
The Belgian round of the European One Wheel League (EOL) was held in Oignies-en-Thiérache from 26 to 28 July in exceptionally changeable weather conditions, making for a race of contrasts.
The course, with the second highest gradient in the championship, was slightly modified to allow for a more spectacular finish with two straights interspersed with a hairpin bend. This change allowed the riders to show their composure and prove their fearlessness, without which a podium finish would not have been possible.
A sneak preview of the very first OWA Weekend and an introduction to the new tour format, which is more compact and condensed into a single weekend.
The inauguration of the OWAW was another great opportunity to combine sport, social activities and the discovery of the splendid natural scenery of the Algarve, which more than ever deserves its title of ‘Land of Trails’. Visitors were able to discover the brand new route and see all the new attractions that dot the route, which is as magnificent as ever.
